Intern Work Places

Intern Work Places

CIELS work with a wide range of partner organisations in the following fields:

ICT - networking & programming

CIELS works with some great companies and people for ICT internships. ICT students and professionals always seem to learn much from one another. Why not do that through the English Language?

Health Care - Nursing Homes & Day Care Centres

As part of the Erasmus + Blended Programme, CIELS is building great partnerships with local healthcare organisations. Enhance your nursing skills in a private nursing home, a day care facility for Alzheimers patients, or some of our other partner organisations.

Social Care - Child Care, Youth Care, Care for Disabled

As social care is very broad, CIELS is developing excellent partnerships with Youth 'drop in' centres, Wheelchair Association centres, and child care facilities among others. You will meet some great people while improving your English language.

Work in a very competitive but fun environment with an Irish owned supermarket chain. The work can be demanding but very fair and with an excellent team that help each other.

Teaching Assistant

Due to CIELS background and partnerships in the education field, we can provide excellent positions in main stream schools that will give you an opportunity to compare your home country's education system with Ireland's....always an interesting experience.

Rather than being stuck in a 'corporate' or office style building everyday, CIELS works with some very interesting companies to provide marketing internships. Work as part of the marketing team in a theatre, gallery or a local tourist office.

Beautician and Hair dressing

CIELS has recently secured internships at busy and successful beauty salons and hair dressers and the feedback from students has been exceptional.

Ireland is a forerunner in global agriculture so what better country to come and do your agricultural internship while improving your English.

If you work in a different field, please let CIELS know and we will source a relevant and rewarding work placement for you.

It is important to understand that a 1-2 week period must be allowed to learn the processes in each organisation. After this period, trust is built and more in-depth duties can be performed.

Ireland has a different system to most other European countries for nursing students. As this programme is for vocational students, no nursing duties such as administering medicine or injecting patients can be performed. Instead, interns can observe doctors or nurses performing these duties.

Some work places are located in towns around Carlow, meaning interns may have to take a train or bus to work. There are no commutes longer than half an hour travelling time.

I really enjoyed my time in Ireland! The Blended Programme gave me good experiences, meeting new people, learning a new culture and language. I learned a lot at the Irish Wheelchair Association Carlow where I did my internship. I also learned a lot studying the Human Growth and Development and Work placement module. The time flew because we were having so much fun. I can't believe it's already over but I will never forget it. Blended Programme thanks for everything!

The Blended Programme was great! It was an amazing combination of the internship and college. I've learned so much at school about Human Growth and Development. My internship was great and all the Irish people are amazing! Sean, Danny and Claire helped us when we needed them, they were fantastic. Thanks for everything, this is an experience I will always remember.

My experience with the Erasmus+ Blended Programme is very positive. It gave me an opportunity to learn about Ireland, learn the English language but also I learned to be more independent. Supervisors from the Blended Programme, teachers from school and my colleagues from Hillview Nursing home helped me with everything. Blended Programme thanks for this amazing experience I will never forget it.
